Mahmoud grew up in Sudan and moved to Canada in 2017. He earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia in 2022, specializing in HVAC systems and renewable energy. Passionate about sustainability, he is dedicated to making HVAC systems more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

As a Mechanical Designer at First Light Energy Solutions, Mahmoud has worked on decarbonization projects across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, healthcare, and recreational facilities such as ice rinks and community centers. His work focuses on optimizing energy efficiency and integrating sustainable solutions to reduce carbon footprints and improve building performance.

Outside of work, Mahmoud enjoys staying active at the gym, playing tennis, and exploring new music. He also loves spending time with his wife and their cat, Vader, whether it’s relaxing at home or discovering new places together.
