Kathy Kwon

Kathy originally hails from California where she received a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering at UC Berkeley. After a short stint as an engineer at Disneyland, she moved to Vancouver in 2007 to pursue a Masters in Divinity.

Much like her education, Kathy's professional experiences are widespread, from an academic think tank to private equity to marketing operations consulting to DEI & social impact to HR to starting a craft brewery. No matter the industry, business, or function, Kathy is passionate about building things—particularly systems that magnify the capabilities of teams committed to doing good in the world.

In that climate change is the greatest threat to humanity today, Kathy loves the deeply pragmatic solutions that FirstLight generates to reduce GHG emissions in the built environment.

Kathy lives in Vancouver with her partner Laura and 80lb bernedoodle George. In her free time, she loves climbing things, playing music, scuttling around town on her bike, and all things degrowth.
